It's been 7 months since a certain, unwanted guest came to visit (COVID-19). While we all hoped they would get the hint. They haven't. In fact, in the last few weeks our guest has made it clear they’re here to stay.
As a result, many of us are feeling lonely and could use a bit of connection and intimacy.
While some of us are filling that gap by baking bread, or learning ways not to murder plants, others are looking for hobbies that can talk back.
So here’s the thing; according to the Match Group, which owns the majority of the popular dating apps around the world, there’s been a 20% to 30% increase in the number of people using dating apps.
Think about that. Before COVID, there were already millions of people using dating apps. Now let’s add a couple, hundred thousand more, shall we? This means, if your profile sucks, you don’t stand a chance, friend!
I’ll be honest, the initial rush of online daters were bad. In fact, I talked about some of the ‘unwanteds’ that suddenly appeared on dating apps, out of boredom, or looking to squeeze out the last bits of fuckboy / girl / person energy, left in them.
Since then, things have changed and now more than ever, people are looking for new friends and relationships. Friend, the only way to stand out is by standing out! Your profile needs to be excellent. It’s just that simple.
